Tips for Selling at Auction

Selling at auction is pretty cut and dry but I wanted to give some pointers to help make choosing where and who sells your items and to what market the auction house sells to.  Going into the situation with all the tools you need to succeed is top on the list.

1. Do your research.
Go to several auction houses and auctions to see what type of auctioneer you prefer, after all you will be dealing with them from the get go.

2.  What kind of Auction do you want to have.
Do you want an absolute auction, a public auction, private auction, online, onsite, or at a designated area?

3.  Understand the rules of the Auction House and Auctioneer, ask questions be informed.

4.  Go in with the understanding that just because "you"  think its worth 100 dollars doesn't mean someone else does.  The Auctioneer should inform you of the lowest bid he or she will take per item or lot.  If you don't want to get rid of it at that price then make sure you place a reserve on the item.

5.  How does the Auctioneer Market the Sale?

6.  Is there a contract?

7.  Percentage taken and buyers premiums.

The biggest flaw of any seller is not being prepared and not gaining knowledge during the process.  A good auctioneer will help you and define the steps you need to take to have an successful auctioning experience.

Stop by my website anytime to see what auctions I have coming up in your area, clicking banner will take you to website.  Thank you for reading.

Superman through the ages

Superman's first appearance was in Action Comics #1, published on April 18, 1938, release date June 1938.  His first comic self titled was released June 1939.  He has made appearances in Justice League, Captain America, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Legion of Super-
Heroes and many more.  He has fought such villains as Adolph Hitler, Lex Luthor, Brainiac and even the KKK.
He has brought a sense of unity, honor and valor to our youth from World War 2 to present day wars.  Never wavering in his pursuit to keep the American forces the strongest, always coming in the nick of time...  Look in the sky...its a bird, its a plane....no its SUPERMAN!   As an influential archetype of the superhero genre, Superman possesses extraordinary powers, with the character traditionally described as "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound", a phrase coined by Jay Morton and first used in the Superman radio serials and Max Fleischer animated shorts of the 1940s.  He is as Iconic as Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mantle or Frank Sinatra.  I know he has sure made my childhood memorable and fun.

Tips for Buying at an auction.

Auctions are fun and entertaining, but being an aware buyer can make your experience even better.  Here are some tips I hope helps you in having a fulfilling Auction experience.

1. Pay attention to the Auctioneer, they make announcements about the auction, before and during the auction.

2. Pay attention to key words like "choice" and " all for one money".

3. You are legally responsible for all purchases made.

4. Once you win an item it is yours, and the responsibility for care of that item now rests on you, so if you buy it and then break it....that is not the responsibility to the auction house to take it back, and the auction house accepts no liability if it gets stolen.

5. You can't be shy at an auction, if you want the item you make your presence known, either by verbally announcing your bid or by hoisting your bid card or paddle up for the auctioneer to see.  There are no do-overs in an auction, so once the item is sold, it is gone forever.

6. Most auctions move fast, so pay attention to the pace of the auction you don't want to think to long and regret missing an item.

7.  Most auctions open early for perusal, take the opportunity to walk the floor and take notes on anything you want to bid on, take down lot numbers or key item descriptions to help you keep an ear out.

8.  Inspect items before auction starts:  Most auctions are "AS IS WHERE IS" simply that means buyer beware because there are no take backs.

9.  You must register in order to bid at an auction, make sure you have information handy for the registrar to make the process run smooth and quickly.

10.Auctions are not retail establishments, once you bid on an item you have legally placed yourself in a contract for payment, you can not bid and win an item and then change your mind before checkout, once the Auctioneer has "SOLD" it to your number....its yours.

Remember these helpful tips and you will find auctions fun and rewarding.
