Superman through the ages

Superman's first appearance was in Action Comics #1, published on April 18, 1938, release date June 1938.  His first comic self titled was released June 1939.  He has made appearances in Justice League, Captain America, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Legion of Super-
Heroes and many more.  He has fought such villains as Adolph Hitler, Lex Luthor, Brainiac and even the KKK.
He has brought a sense of unity, honor and valor to our youth from World War 2 to present day wars.  Never wavering in his pursuit to keep the American forces the strongest, always coming in the nick of time...  Look in the sky...its a bird, its a plane....no its SUPERMAN!   As an influential archetype of the superhero genre, Superman possesses extraordinary powers, with the character traditionally described as "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound", a phrase coined by Jay Morton and first used in the Superman radio serials and Max Fleischer animated shorts of the 1940s.  He is as Iconic as Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mantle or Frank Sinatra.  I know he has sure made my childhood memorable and fun.
